Funding is now available for several fully-funded PhD projects commencing in October 2025. These projects are funded for four years and provide you with a UKRI stipend and Home fees.

You can view and apply for these projects on our research projects page.

Please read the project descriptions carefully for any additional requirements.

Students appointed to these  projects will be expected to complete the usual cohort-building and professional development programme. This is comprised of five first-year modules, two second year modules, public engagement training and visits to nuclear facilities in Slovenia, France and the US; as well as invitations to any other ad hoc events that will promote your knowledge of the nuclear sector and your development as a researcher.

We continue to be active in securing the longer-term future of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Nuclear Energy Futures.
