The Imperial Centre of Excellence in Quantitative Finance is a university-wide hub for research, education, and industry collaboration in quantitative finance. Drawing on Imperial’s strengths across the Business School, Department of Mathematics, and Department of Computing, the Centre fosters a truly interdisciplinary approach to financial innovation. Quantitative Finance sits at the intersection of diverse academic domains—including mathematical modelling, data science, computational methods, and financial economics. The Centre is designed to bridge these disciplinary boundaries, enabling integrated research and training that reflect the complexity of modern financial systems.

The Centre is also a conduit between academia and industry, deepening Imperial’s ties with the global financial sector, particularly in the City of London. We promote cutting-edge research, cultivate next-generation talent, and encourage collaborative inquiry into pressing questions in financial markets and risk analytics. As a strategic platform for both academic excellence and practical relevance, we aim to empower Imperial scholars and partners to lead on quantitative methods that drive real-world impact. We hope to cultivate this hub for research to act as a catalyst to further scale up its close ties to the financial industry.

"The future of finance will be shaped by those who can think across traditional boundaries. The Centre exists to develop the tools, talent, and partnerships needed to lead that transformation. We bring this centre as a platform where rigorous academic insights meet the complex challenges of real-world finance."
