As a globally renowned University, Imperial has long since recognised the need for convergence science – bringing together insights and approaches from originally distinct fields to address complex challenges in a strategic and integrated way.
If we’re to address the grand challenges facing humanity, we need to examine whole systems and join the contours of scientific discovery. Our academic papers and report outputs reflect our approach.
The private sector has for too long been increasing economic prosperity at the cost of decreasing quality of social wellbeing and natural environment.
Leonardo Centre’s ambition is to explore, co-innovate and propogate new ways of thinking and working in business. Where value is not just measured in financial return, but also in quality social wellbeing and the environment.
- Our the first question is what does a better model of business enterprise look like to fit social expectations and wellbeing?
- Second is what are the transformational changes necessary to lead businesses in getting there?
- Third, for each type of change, what are the most effective methods and mechanisms to get to these models of business quickly?
The Leonardo Centre is organised to address all three and that begins with our scientific research. Exploiting our unique dataset, we are studying the evolution of the way companies have been addressing these questions.
