29 April 2025 – UCAS’ search tool opens

Undergraduate courses will be available to search in UCAS’ search tool.

13 May 2025 - You can start your UCAS application

You can start preparing your application in your UCAS Hub account – though you won’t be able to submit it to UCAS until 2 September 2025.

2 September 2025 – Applications can be submitted

Once you've completed your application, including your reference, you can submit it to UCAS.

14 January 2026 – Equal consideration deadline

Submit your application by this date to ensure equal consideration for all undergraduate courses (except MBBS Medicine and Graduate Entry Medicine).

March 2026 - Application decisions

We aim to make all application decisions by late March 2026. You’ll be able to track the status of your application in your UCAS Hub.

August 2026 (Date to be confirmed) - A-level results day

Exam results are released. 

Admissions tests deadlines for 2026 entry

We use admissions tests as part of the application process for many of our courses. The test you could need to take for your application depends on which course you’re applying for. You can find out if your course requires an admissions test as part of the application process on relevant course pages.

Engineering and Science Admissions Test (ESAT)

There will be two test sittings for the ESAT for 2026 entry:

Thursday 9 and Friday 10 October 2025
Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 January 2026

Candidates can book a time slot on any of these test days though please note that tests in China will be available on only one day per test sitting. They will take place on the second day listed above for each test. Find below key dates and deadlines you need to be aware of.

24 June 2025 (15:00 BST) – Applications open for bursaries and access arrangements for Test Sitting 1

July 2025

31 July 2025 (15:00 BST) – Bookings open for Test Sitting 1 (October 2025)

September 2025

8 September 2025 (18:00 BST) – Deadline to apply for access arrangements for Test Sitting 1
29 September 2025 (18:00 BST) – Bookings close for Test Sitting 1 (October 2025)

October 2025

1 October 2025 (15:00 BST) – Applications open for bursaries and access arrangements for Test Sitting 2 (January 2026)
9 and 10 October 2025 – Test Sitting 1

November 2025

14 November 2025 – Test results are released to candidates

Graduate Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT)

You need to take either the UCAT or GAMSAT if you are applying to our Medicine (Graduate Entry) course.

May 2025 – Registrations open.

June 2025

1 July 2025 – Standard registrations close.

University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT)

You need to take the UCAT if you are applying to our 6-year MBBS Medicine (Standard course A100). You need to take either the UCAT or GAMSAT if you are applying to our Medicine (Graduate Entry) course.

MAY 2025

13 May 2025 - UCAT account creation opens. Bursary and access arrangement applications open.

June 2025

17 June 2025 – Bookings open.

July 2025

7 July 2025 - Testing starts.

September 2025

16 September 2025 (12.00 BST) - Deadline to apply for access arrangements.
19 September 2025 (12.OO BST) - Booking deadline. UCAT account creation closes.
26 September 2025 - Last test day.
26 September 2025 - Bursary scheme application deadline.

October 2025

15 October 2025 - Application deadline for MBBS Medicine or MBBS Medicine (Graduate Entry) for entry in 2026.
